About us

Who we are

We are a Residents’ Management Organisation (RMO) that was set up by residents in 1992 to take over the management of Wimbledon Park Estate. Wimbledon Park Co-operative is one of a number of resident and tenant-managed housing organisations in Wandsworth.

We are a non-profit organisation, run by a volunteer Management Committee of residents. Our objectives are to make sure the Estate is maintained to the highest standards and to provide a first-class service to the residents.

What we do

At Wimbledon Park Co-operative, we are responsible for many aspects of the day-to-day and long-term management of Wimbledon Park Estate. Our operations include, but are not limited to, the routine maintenance of all communal areas, the management and maintenance of tenanted properties, the caretaking of communal areas, the management of grounds maintenance contracts, and the provision of an on-site office. We also work to engage with residents through meetings, newsletters, and other communications to help foster a community and ensure residents are able to have their say.

The Management Committee meet monthly to discuss and make decisions on the running of the estate. Click here to read about the Co-operative’s management board.

About Wimbledon Park Estate

Wimbledon Park Estate is within walking distance of Southfields Station, Wimbledon Park, and the famous Wimbledon tennis courts. It is close to all amenities and well served by bus routes and the underground (District Line). Southfields is a mixed area of private houses, private apartment blocks, housing estates and attractive green spaces.

Wimbledon Park Estate was built by Wandsworth Borough Council and consists of seven four to eight-storey blocks. The oldest block was built in the 1930s, while the others were built in the 1950s and 1960s. The Estate consists of 279 flats and an estate office. All the blocks are set in well-maintained, large communal gardens, making it a very pleasant place to live.

Allenswood is one of the blocks on Wimbledon Park Estate.  It was once home to the “Allenswood Academy”.  Eleanor Roosevelt was one of its students who went on to become the wife of the 32nd President of the United States of America and a Human Rights advocate:
